Daniel Donghui LI
Mr. Daniel Li Donghui is currently the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Geely Holding Group. Mr. Li joined Geely Holding Group in April 2011 as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Since November 2011, he has served as a Director on the Board of Geely Holding Group. In April 2012, he was appointed as a Director on the Board of Volvo Cars(VOLCAR B). From May 2011 to April 2014, he served as Executive Director of Geely Automobile Holdings Co., Ltd. (HK.0175). From June 2016 to November 2020, he has served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Geely Holding Group. In July 2016, he has appointed the position of Executive Director and Vice Chairman of Geely Automobile Holdings Co., Ltd. (HK.0175). In 2017, he was appointed as a member on the board of Polestar (NASDAQ: PSNY). In November 2020, he was appointed CEO of Geely Holding Group. In July 2023, he was also appointed by Aston Martin Lagonda Global Holdings plc as Geely’s nominated shareholder representative Non-executive Director.
Mr. Li has successively participated in and led the completion of several major acquisitions including LEVC, Proton, Lotus, Saxo Bank, Volvo AB, etc., and made significant contributions to post-deal integration. Since September 2017 he has served as Chairman of Group Lotus and Director of Proton Holdings. From September 2018 to March 2021, he served as Chairman of Saxo Bank. From March 2021, he remained on the board of Saxo Bank as a regular member. In April 2021, he was appointed Chairman of LEVC Global.
Mr. Li has accumulated substantial executive management experience from years of working at several domestic enterprises and Sino-foreign joint ventures, especially in corporate management, strategic planning, investment, financial management, and cross-border M&A and cooperation. He was honored with the Best Chief Financial Officer for Institutional Investors Award in 2018 and 2019, ACCA China Excellent CFO Leadership Award and other awards. He is considered an expert as part of Zhejiang Province’s “Thousand Talents Program.”
Mr. Li obtained an MBA degree from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business in 2010. He graduated from the Beijing Institute of Machinery in 1997 with a master’s degree in management engineering (with a focus on financial management). He also obtained a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from China Renmin University in 1991.
