2024 November 7th, Hangzhou, China – Zhejiang Geely Holding Group (Geely Holding) announced today that aggregate sales for October 2024 across its automotive brands reached 332,258 vehicles, a 21.1% YoY increase. Cumulative sales in the ten months of 2024 reached 2,651,922 units, a YoY increase of 21.1% with electrified vehicles accounting for 1,141,947 units, a YoY increase of 50.7%. Among the month’s aggregated sales, electrified (EVs, HEV, PHEVs) vehicles reached 165,625 vehicles, representing a YoY increase of 54.1% and representing 49.8% of the Group sales. Sales of vehicles in markets outside of China also saw significant growth reaching 1,009,975 units in the first ten months of the year, a YoY increase of 22.7%.
Unit Sales Details
Geely Auto, the Hong Kong-listed holding company (HK.0175) that includes Lynk & Co and Zeekr, reported October 2024 sales of 226,686 units, an approximately 28% YoY increase. Sales of electrified vehicle reached 108,722 units, a new record high and an increase of 83% YoY, accounting for 48% of the company’s total monthly sales. Lynk & Co, the company’s premium brand sold 31,074 units, an 26% YoY increase with electrified models accounting for 64% of the brand’s sales. The company’s high-end premium electric mobility technology brand, Zeekr sold 25,049 units, a YoY increase of 92%. Export sales for the company reached 32,544 units in October, representing a 18% YoY increase. In the ten months of 2024, the company saw its sales outside of China reach 346,582 units, an increase of 62% YoY.
Volvo Cars sold 61,686 vehicles globally in October, a YoY increase of 3%. Electrified vehicles sales reached 29,895 units, up 40% YoY and accounting for 48% of its brand’s monthly total. The brand has been able to achieve sustained global growth thanks for strong demand for its electrified products in Europe. Cumulative sales in the ten months of 2024 for the brand reached 622,608 units, a 10% YoY increase.
Proton Cars, of which Geely Auto Group controls 49.9% in partnership with DRB-HICOM, recorded October sales of 12,799 units and cumulative sales in the ten months of 2024 reached 125,557 units. Proton’s continued strong performance has enabled it to consolidate its position as the second best-selling brand in Malaysia with an estimated market share of 18.9%. The brand newest products developed in partnership with Geely such as the X50, X90, and S70 have all maintained their positions as the top selling models in their segments.
