2024 August 6th, Hangzhou, China – Zhejiang Geely Holding Group (Geely Holding) announced today that aggregate sales for July 2024 across its automotive brands – Geely Auto, LYNK & CO, Zeekr, Volvo Cars, Polestar, PROTON, Lotus, smart, Radar, LEVC, and Farizon reached 245,752 vehicles, a 10% YoY increase. Cumulative sales in the first seven months of 2024 reached 1,739,467 units, a YoY increase of 23% with electrified vehicles accounting for 696,522 units, a YoY increase of 48%. Among the month’s aggregated sales, electrified (EVs, HEV, PHEVs) vehicles reached 110,042 vehicles, representing a YoY increase of 42% and representing 45 % of the Group sales. Sales of vehicles in markets outside of China also saw significant growth reaching 690,478 units in the first seven months of the year, a YoY increase of 23%.

Unit Sales Details

Geely Auto, the Hong Kong-listed holding company (HK.0175) that includes Lynk & Co and Zeekr, reported July 2024 sales of 150,782 units, an approximately 13% YoY increase. Sales of electrified vehicle reached 59,051 units, an increase of 58% YoY and accounting for 39.1% of the company’s total monthly sales. Lynk & Co, the company’s premium brand sold 21,272 units, a 24% YoY increase. The company’s high-end premium electric mobility technology brand, Zeekr sold 15,655 units, a YoY increase of 30%.

Volvo Cars sold 57,447 vehicles globally in July, a YoY increase of 6% with electrified vehicles accounting for 49% of its total. The brand has been able to achieve consistent growth throughout the year driven by strong sales in Europe and Latin America as well as its growing line of electrified models.

Proton Cars, of which Geely Auto Group controls 49.9% in partnership with DRB-HICOM, recorded July sales of 15,103 units, cementing its position as the second largest vehicle seller in Malaysia with a market share figure of 20.5%. PROTON’s sales growth in July was led by Malaysia’s favorite car, the Proton Saga as well as the refreshed Proton X50 SUV which achieved its best sales month of the year so far.
