2024 July 8th, Hangzhou, China – Zhejiang Geely Holding Group (Geely Holding) announced today that aggregate sales for June 2024 across its automotive brands – Geely Auto, LYNK & CO, Zeekr, Volvo Cars, Polestar, PROTON, Lotus, smart, Radar, LEVC, and Farizon reached 266,164 vehicles, a 14.3% YoY increase. Cumulative sales in the first six months of 2024 reached 1,493,715 units, a YoY increase of 25% with electrified vehicles accounting for 586,480 units, a YoY increase of 49%. Among the month’s aggregated sales, electrified (EVs, HEV, PHEVs) vehicles reached 120,879 vehicles, representing a YoY increase of 53.1% and representing 45.4% of the Group sales. Sales of vehicles in markets outside of China also saw significant growth reaching 587,271 units in the first half of the year, a YoY increase of 22%.
Unit Sales Details
Geely Auto, the Hong Kong-listed holding company (HK.0175) that includes Lynk & Co and Zeekr, reported June 2024 sales of 166,085 units, an approximately 24% YoY increase. Sales of electrified vehicle reached 65,959 units, an increase of 88.3% YoY and accounting for 39.7% of the company’s total monthly sales. Lynk & Co, the company’s premium brand sold 24,439 units, a 49% YoY increase. The company’s high-end premium electric mobility technology brand, Zeekr sold 20,106 units, a YoY increase of 89%. Based on the strong performance of the company in the first half of 2024, Geely Auto has revised its annual target by approximately 5% from 1.9 million to 2 million units.
Volvo Cars sold 71,514 vehicles globally in June, a YoY increase of 8% with electrified vehicles accounting for 48% of its total. Thanks mainly to the strong performance of the brand in Europe and Latin America as well as its fully electric EX30 model, electrified vehicle sales for Volvo reached 173,668 units so far in the year, a YoY increase of 27%.
Proton Cars, of which Geely Auto Group controls 49.9% in partnership with DRB-HICOM, recorded June sales of 10,999 units, allowing the brand to strengthen its hold as the second largest vehicle seller in Malaysia with a market share figure of 19.1%. With the launch of the refreshed 2024 Proton X50, the brand regain its leadership position in the B-segment SUV market in June.
