2023 July 03rd, Hangzhou. Geely Holding, China’s leading privately-owned automotive group, announces with profound sadness the passing of Peter Horbury, former Executive Vice President of Design for Geely Holding Group.

Peter, who joined Geely Holding following its 2010 acquisition of Volvo Cars, was responsible for the design of multiple vehicles at Geely Holding brands including Volvo Cars itself as well as Lotus, Geely Auto and Lynk & Co. Eric Li, founder and chairman of Geely Holding, said: “Peter was a one-of-a-kind designer, able to capture the brand language and emotion of brands from Scandinavia to China. He was a brilliant artist, at heart, who could translate concepts from drawing board to the road. We will deeply miss his presence and his contribution to Geely’s global success story. On behalf of the entire team at Geely, we extend our condolences and our gratitude for Peter’s lifework to his family and friends.”

Peter redefined the Geely Auto range with the launch of Geely Borui in 2015, Geely Boyue in 2016 as well as multiple follow-on products. Peter was key to defining the Sino-European brand, Lynk & Co, that launched in 2016 with a unique design and brand proposition and has since gone onto achieve global success in Europe, China and Middle East markets.
