2020 January 31, Wuhan, China. Following the policy enacted by the Wuhan New Coronavirus Prevention and Control Center on January 24, CaoCao suspended its ride-hailing service in Wuhan to prevent the spread of Coronavirus. On January 26, in response to the government call and the requirements of the Wuhan New Coronavirus Prevention and Control Center, CaoCao Mobility established an emergency epidemic prevention and control fleet for the Wuhan area which will provide free mobility services for residents and front line medical workers in the Wuhan area.

CaoCao’s Series A group of investors has also provided 1 million RMB to support the CAOCAO emergency epidemic prevention and control fleet. The CaoCao Mobility Operation Center and a special dispatch team will cooperate with authorities to provide 24-hour round-the-clock dispatch of vehicles in Wuhan.

In order to alleviate the problem of urban mobility for the quarantined residents in Wuhan, an initiative to dispatch emergency support vehicles to various communities as been started. Currently, CaoCao’s emergency fleet is participating in the initiative, providing a variety of services such as the delivery of meals, groceries, and medicines to residents as well as emergency transport for non-coronavirus related medical emergencies.

Participation in the emergency fleet is completely voluntary and CaoCao continues to see many Wuhan based drivers signing up to join. Many drivers have said “My hometown is sick, I just want to do my part to help it get better.” Fighting the epidemic requires not just the efforts of front line medical workers, it also requires the concerted effort of everyone.

In order to operate safely, CaoCao has provided hundreds of drivers with specialized training, protective garments, and disinfection solutions in order to provide safe, clean and reliable services. CaoCao vehicles will be disinfected and sterilized regularly.

As a B2C ride-hailing service, CaoCao’s advantages of having standardized vehicles, a managed fleet, and full-time professional drivers has enabled it to form a specialized emergency epidemic prevention and control fleet in a quick and efficient manner. The CaoCao Mobility Operation Center and a special dispatch team will cooperate with authorities on the dispatch of vehicles for epidemic prevention and control.

CaoCao’s efforts is one of many activities initiated by Zhejiang Geely Holding Group to help combat the coronavirus epidemic. Geely Holding has established a special 200 million RMB* fund to support the prevention and control of the Coronavirus epidemic around the country. The group is also is coordinating its overseas subsidiaries to take full advantage of the Group’s global footprint and logistics efficiency in procuring supplies for epidemic control and prevention. Other brands under Geely Holding has also given their support in fighting the epidemic including Geely Auto which has donated fifty MPVs to the Wuhan New Coronavirus Prevention and Control Command Center for their transportation needs within the affected region.
